MALAWIAN Gemini Major will set the stage on fire tomorrow.
He forms part of the high profile line-up at the sixth quarterly Major League Gardens social festival at Nasrec Expo Park.
The event is being hosted by Major League DJz Bandile and Banele Mbere.
“My fans must expect an energetic performance and new music, and even a song featuring Nadia Nakai,” said rapper and
producer Gemini, whose real name is Benito Kamoto.
He said he came to Joburg in 2009 to visit his sister, but never went back when the music bug hit. “I loved the music scene
back then and wanted to be part of it.
“I produced a song for DJ Switch featuring Cassper Nyovest and met Cassper at the video shoot. I started playing my music
and he liked it. I have been signed to Family Tree Records since June.”
He said he owes his fresh sound and rap flow to his Malawian music roots.
“I’m inspired by Anati and Burna Boy and recently did a song with internationally acclaimed artist 2Face.”
Also billed for tomorrow’s event are Major League DJz, Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick, Big Nuz, NaakMusiq, Kwesta, Emtee, Nasty
C, Zola 7, PRO, Fifi Cooper, WTF, Kid X and Nadia Nakai. Aewon Wolf, Stilo Magolide, Gigi Lamanye, Shimza, Prince Kaybee,
Heavy K, Lulo Cafe and DJ Maphorisa will also be there.
