The goalkeeper narrowly missed out on a move last summer, but the ever-improving form of Keylor Navas reportedly will see the current No. 1 earn an improved contract.
Real Madrid has dropped its interest in David de Gea, with Keylor Navas now set to be rewarded with a pay increase following a string of impressive displays, according to German news agency DPA.
The Spain international, who was on the verge of a move to the Liga giants last summer only to miss the transfer deadline by minutes, signed a new four-year deal with Manchester United in September.
Navas, who was set to be a part of the De Gea deal, took advantage of his second chance to impress at Santiago Bernabeu, cementing himself as first-choice under Rafael Benitez and Zinedine Zidane.
