Kogi Govt assured corps members of adequate security


LOKOJA – Kogi State government has assured corps members posted to the State of adequate security.

The state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made the promised when he visited the orientation camp of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, batch ‘A’ Stream 11 at Asanya-Kabba.

 

Bello who congratulated the corps members on their enlistment into the scheme, urged them to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement during the course of the orientation exercise in the camp.

The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Arome Adoji said the present administration is poised to create a fertile environment necessary for a peaceful stay in the course of the national service.

He noted that all corps members posted to the state will be provided adequate society stressing that the state government is doing all it could to bring to an end the activities of kidnapping in the state.

Earlier in the programme, the state NYSC coordinator, Mrs Olabanji Bolanle disclosed that there are series of programme carefully designed to imbibe the corps members the necessary skills to be self reliant in the society.

“It is pertinent to inform you that corps members will be exposed to new approaches to business opportunities, modules and ideas through Skills Acquisition and entrepreneurship Development training that will span through five consecutive days on camp.

“The five-day training would focus largely on creating the entrepreneurial and self-reliant spirit, helping corps members explore various income generation opportunities available in the scheme” she said.

She urged corps members to avail themselves the opportunity to learn a skill in the course of the orientation exercise.
